Job Title: Locum Consultant in Oncology
Location: North West
Contract Type: Temporary (6 months)
Hours: Full-time, 08:00 - 17:00, including participation in the non-resident on-call rota.
Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
About the NHS Trust:
We are seeking a Locum Consultant in Oncology to join our team for a temporary 6-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care to our patients with cancer, both in the outpatient and inpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical advice and treatment to patients with cancer, in accordance with local and national guidelines and protocols.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including nursing staff, radiologists, and pathologists, to ensure coordinated and integrated care for our patients.
- Participate in the non-resident on-call rota, providing advice and support to junior medical staff and managing urgent and emergency oncology cases.
- Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit, research, and quality improvement projects.
- Provide teaching and supervision to junior medical staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
- Specialist registration in Oncology
- Experience in the management of patients with cancer in a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
