I am currently looking for a Psychiatrists consultant to work in Scotland.

This role is Consultant Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit

Working: 40hrs per week from asap for 6 months

8 bedded unit providing intensive psychiatric care for male and female patients usually aged between 18 and 65. The unit provides care and treatment for patients who cannot be safely cared for in a less secure environment due to risks to the patient or others, or where a secure setting is required due to the patient's legal status. Patients may be referred to the IPCU from other inpatient wards or may be admitted directly from the community or court. The Consultant Psychiatrist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide care and treatment for this patient group and will be the Responsible Medical Officer for all patients in the unit. Day to day duties will include patient reviews, prescribing, multidisciplinary meetings, Mental Health Act work, Court reports, liaison with carers and liaison with colleagues in mental health services, criminal justice, social work, and other relevant professionals. The Consultant Psychiatrist will be supported by a Core Trainee in psychiatry who provides input to both the IPCU and the Low Secure Unit.
