Fresh Medical has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Consultant Haematologist to cover a 6-month contract, from Mid-April 2023. You will be working alongside a supportive team of clinical staff with a reputable Haematology client based on the south coast
The successful applicants would join the pre-existing haematology team making 6 Consultants in total across the Western half of the trust with 4 Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialists, two specialist trainee’s and a clinical fellow.
You will be required to work Monday to Friday on a consistent 9am - 5pm rota,
Out of hours and inpatient care for both sites (including weekends) is shared - 1 in 6
Brief Job Description
The appointee will be expected to fulfil all job roles of a Consultant Haematologist. They will provide inpatient care for haematology patients up to and including BCSH level 2B. They will be expected to attend clinics for both new and follow up patients, participate in MDT and departmental meetings and participate regularly in audit and guideline production. In addition we would expect the appointee to complete all patient-related administrative duties as well as bone marrow reporting, participate in safe intrathecal chemotherapy administration and support our SpR’s in blood film reporting, bone marrow aspiration and biopsy . They would also be expected to provide consultative advice to other healthcare professionals within the hospital and primary care settings.
